In thirty minutes Susan and I will be heading to Detroit Metro to fly to Atlanta for a long weekend repairing the family boat dock. I will be checking in with you blog-heads from Georgia. Keep us in your prayers and hold the fort until we get back. I can taste those boiled peanuts now! TD out.
Long here folks. Hang with me. Last week’s NewSong Easter Celebration was just that… a party! But for Captured (NS’s band) it didn’t feel that way at first as we struggled through our sound checks and warm-up that morning. The House PA and stage monitors were messed up big time. As a result the sound crew was stressed setting off a chain reaction that ultimately hit the band. Our response? Worship. We went backstage… and simply worshipped God. We surrendered our will and worry to His care and concern. A small group of musicians and techs ignored the sound gremlins and gave their 100% attention to Jesus. The result? More worship and a blessed people. God was near, the gremlins spooked and the house rocked. The same thing happened again yesterday. THE SAME THING. Yeah, we have system issues to work out. But turning the control over to God is the lesson. These last two weeks are only a microsm of life’s bigger struggles. Whether its technical problems in worship, financial pressures, a jerk boss, a relationship gone wrong, a sick loved one or even a tragic situation like Virginia Tech. God is in control. I have found when I try to muscle my way through a storm, I fail. I might win an occassional temporary victory on my own. But ultimately I fail because I condition myself to go it alone. The big, bad set-up Satan loves. God is good. He is faithful. His love endures forever. God shapes us in the storm. No matter the storm, run to Jesus. Rom. 5 – TeleDan
Pitiful! Like striking out the first time at bat in little league. Sorry to all of you who commented on TeleDan’s inaugural post. I was very excited to read every comment, ready to respond back and… SMACK, BOOM, BANG! Nothing. So stay tuned until I work the novice bugs out of my noviceness. I will be posting later today about NewSong’s worship for the past two weeks. Stay tuned and patient! TD out. (Save me, Mud Puppy!) – TeleDan
First down. Numero uno. Start your engines. We have lift off. Here we go. And to christen the launch of this novice blogger is noneother than one half of the famed Mud and Steel show… THE Original MudPuppy himself! – TeleDan
Welcome to the wide world of blog! This has already shot up to the top of my must read list. Two questions: 1-What are you going to blog about, and 2-What is up with the name Teledan? – Mud Puppy
1- Jesus and worship are like peanut butter and jelly, Saturday afternoon and the Big House, and Fender & Boss. Only way better. So this blog is primarily about the perspectives of a worship leader, a relationship with Jesus and encouragement for and from other worship leaders and worshippers of God. 2 – Teledan is in reference to my trusty Fender Telecaster used to crank out the heartfelt worship jams for Jesus no matter where I may be. Truly, the tele is another extension of my heart for God. - TeleDan
And I thought you were talking about a telephone. Well, I guess my only advice would be to be yourself and let it all hang out. – Mud Puppy
Thanks for the intro and encouragement, Mud Puppy. Enough for tonight. We have a pot of Starbucks brewing and a pan of brownies that need rescuing. Looking forward to the world of blogging! TD out. – TeleDan
